Sweet slices of apples with Calvados

Doses for 6 persons Difficulty ': Easy Preparation time: 30 minutes Ingredients 6 green apples 1 cup sugar 8 tablespoons Calvados 1 piece of lemon rind 25g. butter 4 tablespoons melted butter 6 slices sandwich loaf 1 packet of vanilla sugar candied red cherries 
PROCEDURE: peel the apples and cut into segments by eliminating the core, then cut each slice into thin slices. In a saucepan, put the apple slices, sugar, lemon rind and butter in small pieces, Calvados and a little water. Put the saucepan on the stove over moderate heat, and cook until the apples' will not be soft. In a buttered casserole dish, preferably rectangular, put the slices of bread, after having previously deprived of crust and brush them with a little 'of melted butter, then lightly toast them at 180 degrees.

Sprinkle the slices of bread with vanilla sugar, put the slices of cooked apple and put a cherry in the center of each candy. They should be served warm.
